Student Health Services

Insurance & Payments

Plan to make your payment when you come in for your appointment. We take cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and the CarolinaCard.

Beginning fall 2018, USC-Columbia students will be required to have health insurance.

This requirement applies to: undergraduates taking six hours or more and paying the student health fee, graduate students taking six hours or more, graduate students with assistantships and all international students.

The student health fee covers office visits in Primary Care and Women's Health and off-sets the cost of specialty visits like Sports Medicine and Psychiatry. It also covers up to 10 individual counseling visits per academic year as well as all group counseling and wellness, prevention and advocacy services and programs.

We are only in network with the Student Health Insurance Plan, which covers many of our services either completely or partially. We will file claims with third-party insurance plans. Typically, out-of-network deductibles have to be met before third-party insurance plans will pay claims. Some insurance plans do not provide out-of-network coverage - please check your insurance policy to see what your out-of-network coverage entails.

Payment Options

Payment is expected at the time of service. We file insurance for patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or your CarolinaCard.
