11th Grade

Now's the time to really focus on your college search. You'll also need to make sure you've taken all required courses for the colleges that interest you.

Check your schedule

Make sure you know the list of required high school courses and see how your schedule compares. You can pick up any courses you're missing next year.

Find a way to pay

Check out financial aid options at the colleges and universities that interest you. Search for scholarship opportunities at reliable websites, such as and the College Board. You can review scholarship information, including GPA and test score averages, for last year's class of UofSC freshmen students.

Get with the program

What are you interested in? There’s a major for that! For instance, did you know USC students can study Fashion Merchandising? Explore your options, then talk to your counselor about how to fit your field of interest into your high school career.

Know the score

SAT and ACT dates are coming. Here’s how most of our admitted freshmen scored. You can do it! Here are some test-taking tips. And don’t forget to send us your scores!

Plan your summer

It’s not too late to get involved with service opportunities. It’s the most rewarding way to spend your summer, and it looks great on your college application.

Read all about it

Take your research online. Visit the websites of the colleges that interest you. Look at the main .edu website for the college or university, but also make sure you read information from the admissions websites as well.

See it in person

Take a college tour! Visiting in person is the best way to determine how you really feel about a school. You can schedule an appointment to visit UofSC online, where you'll attend an information session and take a tour of UofSC.
