Background

Steve Evans has over 7 years of experience in higher education. His first career hire was as an Admissions Counselor at Newberry College. His responsibilities included traveling nationally to recruit potential college students, counseling potential students on their area of study, and acting as a liaison between potential students and Newberry College. He recently served as the Regional College Coordinator and Retention Specialist with South Carolina GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) at Francis Marion University. His responsibilities included assisting students who were experiencing academic difficulty, working in collaboration with peer team members to promote individual student success through mentoring, counseling, and navigating of the college experience, tracking and documenting students’ progress on a consistent basis.

Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C.
