Social Work Faculty Receive Promotions

Two College of Social Work faculty members have received promotions. Candice Morgan and Sudie Nallo were promoted during the June 2022 University of South Carolina Board of Trustees meeting.

Clinical faculty member Candice Morgan was promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor. Morgan is the Greenville Site Coordinator for the MSW program and has been a field instructor supervising and evaluating students at field locations. Sudie Nallo was awarded the rank of Clinical Associate Professor. Nallo is the college BSW Program Director, serves as director of the I. DeQuincey Newman Institute for Peace and Social Justice and was the 2026 Bachelor of Social Work Instructor of the Year.

“As Interim Dean I am thrilled for Dr. Sudie Nallo’s and Dr. Candice Morgan’s promotions. It is testament to the outstanding quality of their hard work and expertise to receive these promotions from the College and University,” said Dean Teri Browne. “Both Dr. Nallo and Dr. Morgan are very accomplished social workers and academics and have been notable members of our college community. Both have multiple years of experience in social work, community engagement and teaching. Our college is very appreciative to have Drs. Nallo and Morgan on our faculty.”
