American Fact Finder
This site provides statistics about population, housing, industry and business. Viewing a list of US Census Bureau products, creating reference and thematic maps, and searching for specific data also is possible.

ARTFL Project: French-English Dictionary
Contains about 75,000 terms.

Business Source Premier
The industry’s most used business research database.

Chicago Manual of Style
Provides recommendations on editorial style and publishing practices for the digital age.

Chicago Tribune Archive
Searching this archive and viewing abstracts or citations is free, but viewing articles requires a fee.

The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD)
An acquisition, research, and reference service. 

The Chronicle of Higher Education
Published every weekday and is the top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe.

College Source Online
Virtual library representing 31,575 college catalogs in full cover-to-cover, original page format with 2-year, 4-year, graduate, professional and international schools.

Computer Source
Provides researchers with the latest information and current trends in high technology.

Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia
Database indexes over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics. Full text for each record may be easily accessed by double clicking on the topic from the display.

Gale's Literary Index
Contains references for more than 130,000 author names, including pseudonyms and variant names, and more than 140,000 literary works in one source.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research.

Getty Art & Architecture Thesaurus
Comprehensive vocabulary of nearly 120,000 terms describes objects, textural materials, images, architecture and material culture from antiquity to the present.

Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names
Structured vocabulary developed primarily for the field of art history but has the potential for wide applications related to disciplines such as archeology, history, and geography.

HarpWeek: Harper's Weekly
Contains all of the pages of Harper's Weekly (1857-1865) as scanned images with a series of indexes.

Health Source - Consumer Edition
Providing information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Health Source - Nursing/Academic Edition
More than 550 scholarly full text journals, including nearly 450 peer-reviewed journals focusing on many medical disciplines.

Historical Statistics of the U.S. - Millenial Edition
Provides detailed statistical information covering a vast array of topics, such as slavery, migration, poverty and much more.

Provides keyword access to the table of contents pages from over 17,000 journals. It lists over 7 million articles that have appeared since 1988 and includes periodicals from all subject areas although it concentrates heavily on the sciences and social sciences.

Merriam Webster Dictionary & Thesaurus
Offers pronunciation, word function, and simple etymology information while the thesaurus provides word function and hot-linked synonyms.

Military & Government Collection
This database offers a thorough collection of periodicals, academic journals and other content pertaining to all branches of the military.

National Technical Information Service (NTIS)
Contains complementary materials from international sources as well as citations for 750,000 documents and links to government web sites for scientific, technical, engineering and related business information that is produced by or for the US government.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
Nationally recognized for career information that helps individuals make decisions about their future work lives.

Omni Gazetteer
Provides place names for the United States and its territories.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Contains more than 400 reference book titles and more than 8,700 pro and con viewpoint articles. 

Oxford English Dictionary
Contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition and the 3-volume Additions Series.

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
