USC brings home fundraising award

The Office of Development was recognized recently by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for overall improvement.

The office was one of three recipients for the Overall Improvement Award in Category 3: Public Research/Doctoral Institutions With Endowments Over $250 Million by CASE and its Educational Fundraising Awards program.

“We have a very hard-working, dedicated and conscientious staff, and it is a pleasure to see their efforts recognized in this way,” said Susan Lee, the Division of Development and Alumni Relations interim vice president.  “Although final fiscal year 2013 numbers are not yet available, it appears that we will be celebrating our sixth consecutive record fundraising year.”

Institutions do not apply for Educational Fundraising Awards; they are data-driven. USC became eligible by submitting data to the Council for Aid to Education's Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey for three or more consecutive years. Carolina was one of 68 colleges and universities considered out of 412 eligible (35 in Overall Performance, 33 in Overall Improvement).

Clemson University and North Carolina State University were the other two recipients.
