Annual Carolina baseball and softball preview set for Feb. 4

University of South Carolina baseball and softball fans can meet coaches Ray Tanner and Joyce Compton, along with Gamecock players, at the Carolina Alumni Association’s annual preview party Feb. 4 at the Field House on Whaley Street.

The annual University of South Carolina event takes place from 6 – 8 p.m. and is free and open only to members of the Carolina Alumni Association, the Gamecock Club and the Dugout Club. Carolina Alumni Association membership cards must be shown to gain admission to the event, and fans are asked to RSVP online at by Friday, Jan. 29. Spouses and children of members also will be admitted.

Fans can receive autographs, meet the players, Cocky and the Carolina cheerleaders and hear from coaches about their respective seasons. The event also will feature ballpark food and a drawing for an autographed ball by Coach Tanner or Coach Compton. Children will be able to run the bases, take batting practice and test their pitching velocity with a radar gun.
