USC test-prep instructor receives national honor
Karen Mason, the lead test-prep instructor for the University of South Carolina’s Continuing Education and Conferences, recently received the 2010 Continuing Education Faculty Award by the University Professional and Continuing Education Association’s South Region.
The award is given each year to the instructor that demonstrates excellent service to continuing-education learners, develops model programs and opens new avenues for the advancement of continuing-education learners.
Mason’s nomination received support from department managers, colleagues and other university faculty, who cited her dedication as a test-preparation instructor for the Office of Continuing Education and Conferences since 2005. She also has served as curriculum editor and instructional trainer and teaches preparation courses for graduate and undergraduate entrance exams at satellite campuses and locations across South Carolina.
UPCEA is a national association that seeks to advance university professional and continuing education.
University Test Prep offers preparation courses for GRE, GMAT, LSAT and SAT. Courses are held on the Columbia campus and are open to the public.
