University of South Carolina

University cited in Princeton Review

The University of South Carolina is listed among the best institutions for undergraduate education in the 2012 Princeton Review.

Only about 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book.

Earlier this year, The Princeton Review and USA Today listed USC among the top 50 values in public higher education. USC was the only South Carolina institution on the list. USC also is included in the Best Southeastern Schools and earned a green rating of 97. The Gamecock student newspaper was ranked 17th in the country.

The ranking lists are based on surveys of 122,000 students (average 325 per campus) who were enrolled at the schools during the 2010–11 year and/or during the previous two school years. The 80-question survey asks students to rate their own schools on several topics and report on their campus experiences at them.
