Palmetto Concert Band to present fall concert Nov. 22

The University of South Carolina Palmetto Concert Band’s fall concert is set for 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Koger Center for the Arts. Admission is free and open to the public.

Guest performers will be The Triangle Wind Ensemble (TWE) from Wake County, N.C.

The Palmetto Concert Band, organized in January 1999, consists of professional and semi-professional musicians from throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Most are alumni of the university’s School of Music, and more than half are band directors for public schools.

Now in its 10th year, TWE provides talented amateur wind and percussion players opportunities to play rich and varied material in both formal and informal settings. Under the musical direction of Robert C. Hunter, TWE’s performances have earned it both critical praise and popular appreciation throughout North Carolina.
