Sport seminar April 27 to feature racing executive
Lesa France Kennedy, CEO and vice chairperson of the board of directors of the International Speedway Corporation, is the featured speaker at the Thomas H. Regan Sport Seminar, to be held Tuesday, April 27, from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Belk Auditorium of the Darla Moore School of Business.
Hosted by the department of sport and entertainment management, the seminar is free and open to the public.
Kennedy was instrumental in the conception, design and development of the DAYTONA 500 Experience, an award-winning 50,000-square-foot entertainment complex at Daytona International Speedway. She also serves on the Board of Directors for NASCAR.
Named “Most Powerful Woman in Sports” by Forbes magazine, she has been similarly honored by Street and Smith’s Business Journal, the Charlotte Observer and other publications.
International Speedway Corporation annually promotes more than 100 racing events, plus many more motorsports-related activities, and owns and/or operates 13 major speedways, including Daytona, Talladega and Darlington.
