For another semester USC faculty will have a chance to give a lecture as if it were the last one they could ever give. The Last Lecture Series continues this fall and showcases the academic and personal interests and passions of faculty members on the USC-Columbia campus in an informal setting.
This fall also brings us a new lecture series.
The McNair Scholars Association is sponsoring
"Tea and Grits: A Southern Seminar
Series" focusing on speakers who have expertise
in the South, to help educate out-of-state students
about this region, as well as South Carolina.
The Carolina Scholars and McNair Scholars Associations welcomes you to attend any of all of these great lectures.
The purpose of these lectures are to allow
professors and students to encounter one another
outside of a classroom. It gives lecturing
professors the opportunity to speak on a topic that
is significant and intriguing to them. Both
series help connect students with the central
purpose of a college education – the encouragement of intellectual curiosity.
The lectures are held at 7 pm in the Gressette Room of Harper College.
The Carolina Scholars Association invites you to
nominate your favorite professors by e-mailing
LastLecture@hotmail.com.
Nominations are accepted on a continuing basis.
The McNair Scholars Association welcomes speaker
ideas and topics by emailing their association
leadership.
