USC geographers in the news

Local and national media turn to USC faculty members for analysis of the August 2017 solar eclipse and recent weather events

Dr. April Hiscox, an expert on micro-level interactions between the atmosphere and earth, featured prominently in recent media coverage on the solar eclipse.

Dr. Zhenlong Li’s research on the use of Twitter data to track solar-eclipse viewing in South Carolina was featured on the local ABC broadcast affiliate.

Hurricane expert Dr. Cary Mock was interviewed by the local ABC broadcast affiliate and a number of newspapers to provide insights into the recent flooding in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Susan Cutter, Director of the Hazards and Vulnerability Research Institute at USC has also made several media appearances to share her expertise on hurricane-related hazards.
