How to Apply to USC School of Music
Interested in applying for admission to the University of South Carolina School of Music? Follow this simple two-step process.
1. Apply for admission to the university through the University of South Carolina Office of Admissions.
You should apply online for admission to USC. Prospective students are automatically reviewed for USC’s academic
scholarships when they submit an application in accordance with USC’s application deadlines.
2. Schedule your date to audition for the USC School of Music.
An audition is required for you to be considered for admission to the School of Music as a music major and for scholarship awards. You do not need to know for certain whether your application was accepted or denied prior to scheduling and visiting for your audition; most applicants will find their USC applications are still pending when they perform their audition.
It is recommended you schedule your audition date as soon as possible. Remember that you will need to be accepted by both the university and the School of Music in order to enroll as a music major at USC.
A note for transfer students:
Prospective transfer students can apply for admission to USC as late as the summer before they plan to attend in the fall, but those students should audition on one of the USC School of Music audition dates to be considered for scholarships and admission to the School of Music. An audition is required to be reviewed for admission. Students will not be permitted to enroll in the School of Music without a qualifying audition on record.
