Voice Intensive FAQ

How is this program unique and different from other vocal training programs?

This program is centered around the individual singer and their vocal needs. We offer an immersive experience that is well-rounded and focuses on the whole musician. From movement to private lessons, from music theory to performance practice…our goal is to meet each singer where they are and give them the tools to maximize personal growth as an artist, while also making new friends in the process!

How many private lessons will a student have?

Each singer receives five 30-minute lessons. (One per day, Monday through Friday)

Will I be able to get a recording of my performance(s)?

Yes, the USC School of Music recording engineer, Jeff Francis, records all CSMC recitals, including those for the Voice Intensive; and they will be available for purchase at the end of the program.

What kinds of mitigations and safety protocols are in place related to COVID-19?

The USC School of Music has worked tirelessly to make sure that there are clear guidelines for all faculty, staff, students and guests on our campus. These guidelines will continue to evolve as the university at large responds to changes in the status of COVID-19 on our campus and in the community. For the most current guidelines and protocols, please visit our USC School of Music COVID-19 Policies Q&A

Can I apply for a scholarship, and how are they determined?

Limited scholarships are available to students who ask to be considered on their application forms. All students who wish to be considered for scholarships MUST submit a recording of their singing.
