NSF: Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation NSF 17-579

This FOA assists universities and colleges in diversifying the nation's science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce by increasing the number of STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to populations historically underrepresented in these disciplines: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Native Pacific Islanders.

USC may only submit only one application as a lead institution in an alliance in response to this program announcement. Note: Alliances may hold only one active alliance award at a time. Institutions partnering in an alliance may not be a formal partner in more than one alliance at the same time. This eligibility applies to proposals for STEM Pathways Implementation-Only Alliances, Bridge to the Baccalaureate Alliances, and Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliances.

Your application submission MUST be coordinated with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Please send a two page abstract via email to Richard White (whitejrw@mailbox.sc.edu) by September 20, 2019. In addition to the 2-page abstract, you should also submit a biosketch for the PI.

NIH indicates that a letter of intent NOT REQUIRED and a completed application is due by November 1, 2019. For more information: https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2017/nsf17579/nsf17579.htm
