Financial Aid
USC Salkehatchie recognizes that a college education is a major expense in most family
budgets. Many federal, state, local and institutional sources are available to help
students meet those obligations. The Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits
administers scholarships, grants, loans, work study, and veterans benefits. Please explore our site for information about those programs.
Palmetto College Central Financial Aid Office
The Palmetto College Central Financial Aid Office provides administrative support
to the Financial Aid Offices located on the University of South Carolina Palmetto
College Campuses. Many resources are available on this site.
Federal Student Aid
Students interested in grants, work and loans should fill out the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is something you’ll need to do annually to be
considered for aid each year you’re in school
CARES Act Federal Grant
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides economic relief
to students who incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due
to the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes eligible expenses under a student's cost of
attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare. To
see if you qualify for these funds, visit CARES Act Federal Grant for more information.
Net Price Calculator
This calculator is intended to provide estimated net price information (defined as
estimated cost of attendance — including tuition and required fees, books and supplies,
room and board (meals), and other related expenses — minus estimated grant and scholarship aid)
to current and prospective students and their families based on what similar students
paid in a previous year.
SAP Appeals
All students deemed ineligible to receive financial aid as a result of failing to
meet any component of this policy have the right to appeal. All appeals must be submitted
in writing to the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFAS). Appeals
are approved on a case-by-case basis. The student must have experienced one or more
specific, mitigating or other unforeseen circumstances that interfered with the completion
of his or her coursework.
SAP Appeals Deadlines
- Fall 2022 Deadline: August 12, 2022
- Spring 2023 Deadline: December 9, 2022
Any appeals received after these dates will not be reviewed because there will be
insufficient time remaining in the semester for the full processing of the financial
aid.
