2019 End of Semester Kudos!

SEOE Graduate Student Heather Roman-Stork got a SC Space Grant Consortium/NASA project funded for $12,000 entitled "Utilization of NASA’s SMAP Salinity and GPM Precipitation for Indian Ocean Monsoon Studies 
 
Tom Lekan has been awarded a prestigious six month residential fellowship at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Munich, Germany.
 
David Fuente received an ~$23K award “Water Pricing and the Poor: Designing and delivering improved subsidies for water and sanitation services in Nairobi, Kenya” from the SIDA-funded Environment for Development Initiative, administered through the University of Nairobi.
 
Katherine Ryker got her first lead-PI NSF grant entitled "Effective Teaching Strategies Workshops and Sessions for the 2019 Earth Educators’ Rendezvous” for $47,782.
 
Alicia Wilson got new support for her long-running Girls Go for I.T. summer program funded by National Center for Women and Information Technology for $2930.
 
George Voulgaris got an award entitled "Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (SECOORA): Hurricane Supplemental - Repairs " funded by Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (SECOORA)/NOAA for $20,785.
 
Susan Lang got a NASA award for $39,205 entitled "Reconciling Prebiotic Paradigms: Mapping Planetary Reality onto Experimental Strategies”.
 
Sasha Yankovsky, Annie Bourbonnais, and George Voulgaris got an ASPIRE III Infrastructure proposal from the USC Office of Research for $80,000 entitled “Quantifying Turbulence and Mixing Across the Estuary-Ocean Interface with a Microstructure Profiler”
 
David Kneas received a Provost grant in the Humanities division entitled "Good Stories: The Narratives, Knowledge, and Expertise that Sustain Global Copper Exploration”.  The amount was not announced, sorry!
 
Conor Harrison received a Provost grant in the Social Sciences division entitled "Electric Geographies: The new geographical political economy of electricity in the United States”  The amount was not announced, sorry!
