Who can apply?

• Sociology majors with a minimum GPA of 3
• Must have completed 30 credit hours (at least sophomore classification)
• Cannot be planning to graduate during the Spring or Summer 2023 semester

How do I get started?

• Identify a Sociology faculty member you want to work with and discuss your ideas with them and interest in applying for the fellowship

How do I apply?

Email the following as one PDF to the Undergraduate Program Director, Jennifer Augustine at AUGUSTJM@mailbox.sc.edu:

• • Two-page proposal that states the question you want to ask and why it is important, the methods you will use, and your plan for conducting the research
  • Budget and budget justification describing your budget costs
  • Faculty letter of support discussing how you will work together on the project, what you will gain from the project, and your preparation (e.g., coursework)

How can I use the fellowship funds?

Funds may be used for supplies (computers not allowed), secondary data, software, participant incentives, conference travel, and statistics Salary not allowed.
