USC’s College of Social Work jumped 11 points U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 Best Schools for Social Work rankings. The college now stands at 51 overall, an 11-point increase from 2022 and is the number one social work program in the state, according to these national rankings.
“Our college has made remarkable strides, advancing by 11 points in just two years. I am incredibly proud of the progress we've achieved,” said Dean Teri Browne. “We've focused on several key areas, from elevating our academic standards to strengthening faculty contributions in significant scholarship. This success reflects our collective commitment and dedication to social work education.”
South Carolina has a shortage of social workers and with three program locations within the state, new faculty and an increased community presence, Browne believes the long-term effort has advanced the college's academic standing and initiatives.
“While we are proud of this ranking achievement, we’re not pausing our momentum,” said Browne.
