Find out if the USC School of Music is a good fit for you

Many of our current students learned about us by visiting the School of Music when they were in high school. They attended concerts, recitals and special events; met our talented faculty and students; and took tours of our impressive facilities and campus. That’s how they knew we were a good fit for them when it came time to make a decision about which college to attend.

We welcome your visit too, and will do all we can to help you plan informative, fun sessions to help you “audition” us!

Plan a successful trip to USC

If you can, visit us during the fall or spring semester weekdays when classes are in session. You will get the most realistic snapshot of what it’s like to be a student at USC. We sometimes schedule summer informational visits, but remember that most students and faculty are away for the summer, performing, attending and teaching at special summer programs, working on projects, etc. You may not get a chance to meet faculty or students in your area if you visit during the summer.

If there are music faculty you really would like to meet when you visit, send them an email and see if they may be able to accommodate a short meeting with you.

Just have an afternoon? Call us at 803-777-4281 and make an appointment with the School of Music for a brief tour of our facilities and concert venues.

Have all day? You can schedule a campus tour then call 803-777-4281 to set up a School of Music building tour and information session. Check out the extensive list of student or faculty performances (LINK TO CONCERT SCHEDULE) and plan to join us for a concert and recital, too.

Have some free time? The City of Columbia’s famed Riverbanks Zoo & Botanical Garden, the South Carolina State Museum and the Columbia Museum of Art are just minutes from campus.
