It’s back! Healthy Carolina Farmers Market returns
Just as students return to campus, the Healthy Carolina Farmers Market returns every Tuesday, from August 31 through September 28. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located between the iron gates on Greene Street in front of the Russell House.

Patricia Moore-Pastides
Get to the August 31 market early! Patricia Moore-Pastides, Carolina's First Lady and a major advocate for healthy eating and cooking, will be sharing free samples of muscadine grapes from a local farm.
The Farmers Market is a huge hit among students, faculty, staff, and the community -- it draws nearly 1,000 customers each week. The market features fresh and locally produced vegetables and fruits, meats and cheeses, seafood, peanuts, homemade breads and an array of specialty items by local farmers. Products, which are cash and carry, are competitively priced and sold individually and in bulk.
The Healthy Carolina Farmers Market is part of a national collegiate trend to promote nutrition education and sustainable agriculture (buying fresh produce from local farmers) to students, faculty and staff. The university’s Healthy Carolina Initiative aims to simplify healthy choices.
