Continued: Sustainability
Sustainability has also been identified as an area of importance by federal funding agencies. For example, the National Science Foundation’s strategic plan for 2006 - 11 includes sustainability research as one of the agency’s five investment priorities. NSF also recently announced the Science, Engineering and Education for Sustainability NSF-wide Investment Area, a multi-year effort.
