Dr. Rob Ployhart, an associate professor of management at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, has been elected a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science.
Selection is based on outstanding contributions to psychology in research, teaching, service and/or application. Ployhart is one of four USC professors who have earned APS fellow status and the only business faculty member to have earned the distinction. The APS is a professional organization with more than 20,000 members worldwide who advance psychology as a science.
A prolific scholar, Ployhart is an expert in staffing, personnel selection and recruitment. His research is featured in top journals and human-resource publications. Earlier this year he was named a fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association. In 2009, he earned the APA’s Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology.
Ployhart earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and business from North Dakota State University and his master’s and doctorate in organizational psychology from Bowling Green State University and Michigan State University, respectively.
