USC to host history conference on science, technology

The University of South Carolina’s history department will host a conference Sept. 11-14 on the public understanding of science and technology.
Speakers from the Smithsonian Institution, the London Science Center, the Canadian Museum of Science, the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control will discuss the interactions of history, science, policymaking and public understanding.
The conference is scheduled to begin Sept. 11 with a reception at McKissick Museum in conjunction with the opening of the exhibit, “Imaging the Invisible,” a history of scientific imaging.
