Four finalists selected for secretary of Board of Trustees

Four finalists were named Friday (Oct. 7) for the position of secretary of the university and of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees.
The finalists are Brian Comer, a lawyer with Collins & Lacy and former student body president; Charles D. Fitzsimons, director of capital budgets and financing at USC; Dr. Cameron Howell, assistant vice president for higher education development at the National Student Clearinghouse in Herndon, Va., and Amy Stone, interim executive director of the Carolina Alumni Association.
Comer is a magna cum laude graduate of USC’s Honors College with a degree in international studies and economics. He also earned his master of international business studies and his law degree from USC. Comer joined the firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in 1999 and became partner in 2007. In June 2009, he joined Collins & Lacy, where he has continued to work in products liability, professional malpractice cases and general business litigation.
