June 6 program focuses on healthy lifestyles
The University of South Carolina’s Cancer Prevention & Control Program (CPCP) will open its doors Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to celebrate healthy lifestyles.
The event, which is being held in the CPCP’s new location at 915 Greene St. in the Discovery I building, will feature a cooking demonstration at 11 a.m. by Patricia Moore-Pastides, celebrated cook and wife of the University of South Carolina president Harris Pastides.
Chefs from the university’s Preston Dining Hall also will have a cooking demonstration, at noon, followed at 1:15 p.m. by a demonstration by Brooke Harmon of Columbia’s Cooking!
Among the other activities are exhibits and yoga, meditation, therapeutic massage classes, as well as an appearance by Cocky.
