Concert to raise money for music students’ emergency fund
The School of Music at the University of South Carolina will hold a concert Saturday, Nov. 21, to raise money for an emergency fund to help music students who are unexpectedly unable to support their educational endeavors.
The student-driven effort will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s recital hall, with a reception to follow. The concert is free of charge, but donations of $25 are suggested.
Presented by Sigma Alpha Iota, the professional organization for women in music, the concert will feature ensembles and solo performances by music students. Concert coordinator Sonya Schumann is making the event part of her South Carolina Honors College senior thesis.
