S.C. and global leadership topic of forum today

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) and the University of South Carolina will co-host a foreign policy forum today (Thursday, Jan. 28), to examine the importance of global engagement in South Carolina's prosperity and security.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the theater at USC's Drayton Hall, which is at the corner of Sumter and Greene streets.

Participants will include Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations; David Wilkins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada and USGLC State co-chair; University President Harris Pastides; and Liz Schrayer, executive director of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (www.usglc.org) is a broad-based influential network of 400 businesses and NGOs; national security and foreign policy experts; and business, faith-based, academic and community leaders in all 50 states who support a smart power approach of elevating development and diplomacy alongside defense in order to build a better, safer world.
