Finalists for law-enforcement director to visit campus

Three finalists for the position of director of law enforcement and safety at the University of South Carolina will visit campus to meet with university leaders.

The schedule of campus visits is as follows: Gregory C. Harris, chief of police at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, July 29; Leslie G. Wiser Jr., former senior counterintelligence adviser in the Office of Counterintelligence, Department of Energy, Aug. 2; and Christopher L. Wuchenich, associate director of USC law enforcement and safety, Aug. 4.

After 40 years in law enforcement, 29 of them at USC, Ernie Ellis will retire as director this summer. Bill Hogue, vice president for information technology, is chairman of the screening committee to fill Ellis’ post.
