Designer holds event to support colon-cancer research
Fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo will hold a trunk show and book signing at Coplon’s in Charlotte Tuesday, March 22, to support colon-cancer research and education.
The fashion designer, known for dressing celebrities such as Vanessa Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Katie Couric, is donating the proceeds from his book to colon-cancer research. “Dressed to Perfection” offers everyday fashion tips plus advice for dressing for red-carpet moments.
Along with the book signing, Valvo-designed scarves and ties will be sold, with proceeds benefiting the Center for Colon Cancer Research at the University of South Carolina. Valvo, a colon-cancer survivor, has partnered with the center to help educate the public on the need for colon-cancer screening.
The event, free and open to the public, runs from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Coplon’s, 6809 Phillips Place Court in Charlotte. For more information about the event, call Coplon’s at 704-643-1113.
