Law students to provide free tax assistance to needy clients

Student volunteers at the University of South Carolina School of Law are again providing tax assistance to low-income and elderly citizens.

Coordinated by the school’s Pro Bono Program, the sessions will take place in the lobby of the law school Feb. 14 through March 28: Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – noon.

Volunteers will prepare and file simple state and federal returns. No appointment is necessary, and service is on a first-come, first-served basis. The law school is at 701 S. Main St., and the lobby entrance is adjacent to Greene Street, between Assembly and South Main.
