USC's Center for Asian Studies will present a performance by the Youth Chinese Opera Mission at 7 p.m. Oct. 30, in Drayton Hall.
The program will blend elements of martial arts, Chinese opera, folk music and dance to introduce the audience to Chinese performing arts. Among them are "The Jade Bracelet," the story of a rich young man who falls in love with the beautiful daughter of a poor widow, and "Eight Gods Crossing the Sea," the story of the encounter between the eight principal gods of Chinese mythology and a fish god.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and children, amd are available at the information center in the Russell House Student Union.
