Swan, whose research focuses on domestic violence and women's lives, received a Ph.D. in social and personality psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and served as associate research scientist and director of the Family Violence Program at Yale University School of Medicine before coming to USC.

A reception will follow the lecture. There is no charge to attend either event.
