The Department of Theatre and Dance will hold auditions for 2004 spring productions from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 22,and from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 23 at the acting studios on the first floor of Booker T. Washington Auditorium.
Theatre South Carolina casts many non-students in its productions and encourages anyone in the USC community and the Midlands to audition.
People planning to audition should enter the auditorium from Wheat Street, between Pickens and Bull streets. Callbacks will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 24.
Actors should come prepared with two contrasting monologues; each audition will be a total of two minutes. Sign-up for audition times must be done in person at the department office on the fourth floor of Longstreet Theater from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Theatre South Carolina's lineup of spring productions includes Euripides' Trojan Women and Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The Greek tragedy will be directed by Bonnie Monte, artistic director of the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival. The Shakespeare comedy will be directed by J.R. Sullivan, associate artistic director of the Utah Shakespearean Festival.
