The Undergraduate Program of the Department of Political Science will sponsor its sixth annual POLIFest, a celebration of student civic life, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 in front of Gambrell Hall.
The event encourages student interest and involvement in civic affairs by introducing students to politically oriented organizations and exposing them to various arenas in which the study of politics is useful. Free pizza and soft drinks will be held during the event.
The festival will include representatives from several organizations who will talk to students about different ways they can get involved in active civic organizations and provide information on the advantages of studying politics.
Other interactive activities will include a straw vote for candidates students think are best suited to run in the 2008 presidential election. For information, conact Ben Johnston, POLIFest coordinator, at 7-6959, or benmjohnston@gmail.com.
