Patrick Craig Manning will visit the USC Department of Art and discuss his work Nov. 1011.
Manning is an assistant professor at the Herron School of Art, IUPUI, and his photography work embraces video production and site-specific installations. His recent project, Speak/Spoken, was one of two winners of Indianapolis inaugural Public Art Great Ideas Competition. Speak/Spoken projects faces and voices onto silk screens suspended from Indianapolis West Street Bridge over the Downtown Canal.

On Nov. 10, Manning will speak about his work beginning at 4 p.m. in McMaster College, Room 214. A reception and collaborative open studio night featuring the work of USC and Clemson MFA students will follow.
On Nov. 11, Manning will hold an all-day Daguerreotype workshop in the photography lab. From 9 a.m. to noon, Manning will demonstrate the Daguerreotype process; this session is free and open to the public. From 1 to 4 p.m., Manning will assist participants in making their own Daguerreotype; this session costs $30 to attend and limited to 15 participants. Participants in the afternoon session should also plan to attend the morning session.
