Metalwork on exhibit at USC Sumter through March 31

Works in metal by the Philip Simmons Blacksmith Group will be on display at USC Sumter through March 31.

The exhibit is presented in conjunction with USC Sumter's 40th anniversary. It is free and open to the public.

The Philip Simmons Blacksmith Group includes Michael Tucker, John Outlaw, and Meck Hartfield. The group is named in honor of Simmons, a Charleston blacksmith known worldwide for his work, particularly his intricate and beautifully crafted garden gates.

The exhibit can be seen in the Umpteenth Gallery in the Arts and Letters Building on the USC Sumter campus. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday.

For more information, call Cara-lin Getty at 55-3727 or Laura Cardello at 55-3858.
