USC pharmacoeconomics professor Gene Reeder has received a distinguished service award from the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), a national professional society dedicated to the concept and practice of pharmaceutical care in managed health care environments.
Reeder has been on the faculty of the USC College of Pharmacy for 28 years. As a pharmacist and academician, Reeder has a particular interest in managed care and its potential to control expenditure while delivering high quality health care, and he focuses his teaching and research on pharmacists adding value to the health care delivery system.
Reeder has been an active member of AMCP since 1994 and served as president of the Academy in 2002-2003. Reeder has also served on several AMCP committees, including the Strategic Marketing and Development Committee and Finance Committee, and the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy Editorial Advisory Board.
