The Robert E. McNair Collection, a new addition to the University's South Carolina Political Collections, will be on display July 5-August 10 in the lobby exhibit area at Thomas Cooper Library. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

A reception to celebrate the opening of the McNair Collection will take place 5-7 p.m. July 13 in the Graniteville Room at Thomas Cooper Library. The event will include a book signing for Philip G. Grose's book, South Carolina at the Brink: Robert E. McNair and the Politics of Civil Rights. Grose and former S.C. Governor McNair will be present to sign copies of the book, which may be purchased at the event.
The reception is being sponsored by University Libraries, South Carolina Political Collections, and the Institute for Southern Studies. The event is free and open to the public. To attend, notify Carroll Peters at 7-5564 or carrollp@gwm.sc.edu by July 6.
