USC Beaufort will host a high tea with Nathalie Dupree at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton Sept. 14. The event, which begins at 2:30 p.m., is sponsored by the USC Beaufort Office of Continuing Education. Following the tea, Dupree will talk about her latest cookbook, Shrimp and Grits.

Dupree is the author of ten cookbooks, hostess of more than 300 cooking shows on television, and the recipient of the James Beard Award.
A veteran of PBS, The Learning Channel, and The Food Network, she is most famous for her approachability and understanding of Southern cooking. She started the New Southern Cooking movement, which is now found in many restaurants throughout the South.
Dupree has been chef of three restaurants--in Georgia, Virginia, and Spain--and has been director of Rich's Cooking School in Atlanta.
A variety of teapots set on the tables at the high tea event will be available for purchase. Proceeds will be donated to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for its expansion efforts into Jasper County.
