An exhibit on the life of retired Maj. Gen. T. Eston Marchant will be on display in the lobby of the South Caroliniana Library through August 19.

Marchant, who died July 19, was elected to USC's Board of Trustees in 1965 and was board chairman from 1970-1978. He resigned from the board in 1978 to run for the office of adjutant general of the S.C. National Guard, an elected office that he held for four terms until his retirement in 1994.
Materials on display in the exhibit will be drawn from the collections of the USC Archives and the T. Eston Marchant Papers of the S.C. Political Collections.
The South Caroliniana Library is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
