Three 'Last Lecture' events announced for fall semester

The Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs announces three upcoming events for USC'S Last Lecture Series, a project of the Carolina Scholars Association.

Each year, students are asked to nominate those USC professors they would like to hear give a lecture as though it were their last. Professors with the most nominations are invited to speak in one of six annual Last Lecture events.

Rudy Mancke
The first three events of the upcoming academic year are:
  • Sept. 13, Rudy Mancke, School of the Environment
  • Oct. 4, Tammi Richardson, biological sciences
  • Nov. 8, Doug Williams, marine science.
All lectures begin at 7 p.m. in the Gressette Room of Harper College and are free and open to the public.

Nominations for future speakers can be sent to LastLecture@hotmail.com.

For more information, call Chanda Cooper, series student coordinator, at 425-9795, or Jan Smoak, Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs, at 7-0958.
