The Columbia Science Cafe is a monthly series on the second Tuesday of the month organized by an informal group consisting of Engenuity South Carolina, the S.C. Citizens School for Nanotechnology, and other Columbia area academic and industry entities.
Locations and topics vary. The organizers are open to suggestions for both.
The Science Cafe started in England and is based on the French Cafe Philosophique. The idea is to bring together people from throughout the community to hear an informal introduction to an interesting current scientific topic led by an expert.
The goal is an interactive event with questions, chat, networking, and discussion in a casual setting.
Seating at the Science Cafe is limited. Participants are asked to RSVP by e-mailing Tory Sojourner at tsojourner@engenuitysc.com.
Comments or suggestions are welcome and can be sent to Rachel Card at rcard@engenuitysc.com.
