Free diabetes education session March 14

The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine is sponsoring a diabetes health care education session from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 14 in the Moore Building at the S.C. State Fair Complex at 1200 Rosewood Drive.

Patricia Wilson Witherspoon, associate professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the USC School of Medicine, will talk about explaining key measures, knowing your numbers and what they mean, the importance of key exams, and why certain tests are done for diabetes. S.C. Lt. Governor Andre Bauer will discuss the Living Well South Carolina Initiative and updates on the Office on Aging.

Attendees will also learn about disease
management and how it can support your health and your doctor.
