Nominations for the Michael J. Mungo Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching Awards are being accepted now.
Four Mungo Undergraduate Teaching Awards and one Mungo Graduate Teaching Award will be given. Each award recipient also will receive $2,500.
Deadline for nominations is Dec. 14, 2007.
The intent of these awards is to recognize and reward excellence in teaching on the University campus. The awards are open to all full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty, including those who are candidates for, or who have already received, other teaching awards.
Nominations can be made by students, faculty, department chairs,directors, and deans. Anyone wishing to nominate a faculty member should submit a nomination form, available on the Web site of the Office of the Provost at www.sc.edu/provost, and a brief letter stating reasons for nominating.
Nominees will be notified and asked to provide approximately eight pages of specific information. Winners will be recommended by the Michael J. Mungo Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching Award Committee under the supervision of the provost, who will make the final selection for the awards. Winners will be announced at the General Faculty meeting April 28, 2008.
