The College of Mass Communications and Information Studies will sponsor its fifth annual I-Comm Week March 31-April 4 with an extensive lineup of events and speakers that is open to the public.
Speakers include Rome Hartman, long-time CBS newsman who is now with BBC Worldwide, and Brian Lamm, chairman and CEO of C-Span, who will present the Deans' Lecture.
Also appearing will be professional storyteller Natalie Daise, aka Miss Natalie on Nick Jr.'s Gullah Gullah Island, the first show designed for preschoolers to feature a Gullah family; Pulitzer Prize winning AP correspondent Mitch Weiss; and Pulitzer nominee Ken Kobre, a photographer and inventor of the Lightscoop, an accessory that allows photographers to bounce light from built-in pop-up flash units.
Michael Boulia, senior vice president and creative director of BBDO New York, one of the nation's most prestigious ad agencies, will appear to pick up the Cocky Award for his award-winning Super Bowl Ad, and Carolina student Jaime Dugan will speak about her experience in the jungles of China on CBS' Survivor!, among other activities.
