Elizabeth Regan, DPT, PhD

Dr. Regan directs the Brain Health Fitness exercise programs and conducts clinical and community research. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina Floyd School of Medicine. She is clinically trained as a Physical Therapist and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS). She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Elon University in 2005 and her PhD in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in 2020. She was core faculty in the USC Doctor of Physical Therapy program 2020-2026 where she taught orthopedics, therapeutic exercise, and wellness and health promotion, and conducted research. From 2023-2025, she had a part-time faculty research fellowship through the Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR). In 2026, she joined the Floyd School of Medicine and the USC Brain Health Network.

Dr. Regan’s research focus is at the intersection of physical rehabilitation and community wellness. She would like to build opportunities for people with cognitive and mobility impairments to increase physical activity and health.
