At the start of each school year, the CAN Research Center meets to update members on goals for the upcoming year, learn about ongoing research, discuss critical topics that will advance our mission, and offer a space for building connections. See the flier [pdf] and additional details below!

  2. 9:30 a.m. Introductions and reports from CAN Executive Committee and workgroups

  3. 10:15 a.m. Invited guest: Dr. Orgul D. Ozturk, Department Chair and Professor, Darla Moore School of Business

  4. 10:45 a.m. Break

  5. 11:00 a.m. Science talks: “Across the Lifespan”

    Speakers: Dr. Jeff Twiss, Dr. Laura Friedman, Dr. Julia Yurkovic-Harding, Dr. Norma Frizzell

  6. 11:50 a.m. July strategic planning retreat update

    Presenter: Dr. Caitlin Hudac

  7. 12:00 p.m. Working lunch in breakout groups, followed by whole-group reports and discussion

  8. 1:30 p.m. Science talks: “ANS Function and Emotion Regulation.”

    Speakers: Dr. Abigail Hogan, Dr. Robin Dail, Dr. Aaron Jasnow

  9. 2:20 p.m. Break

  10. 2:40 p.m. Breakout groups, followed by whole-group reports and discussion

  11. 3:40 p.m. Wrap-up

  12. 4:00 p.m. Formal programming ends; informal social opportunity at a nearby establishment (to be determined)
