The Carolina Autism and Neurodevelopment Research Center (CAN) offers training and professional development opportunities that support researchers studying autism and neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). Workshops, seminars and trainee-led programs provide practical guidance in research methods, statistics, grant development and interdisciplinary collaboration while connecting students, trainees and faculty across the University of South Carolina’s McCausland College of Arts and Sciences.

CAN is hosting a writing panel for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and anyone interested in autism and neurodevelopment to learn writing tips and tricks from faculty members representing three different colleges and four different departments. There will also be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and engage in discussion with panelists. Trainees are welcome to join a workshop run by Dr. Lisa Cantrell. This workshop will instruct participants on how to include storytelling in research and synthesizing that into a 90 second elevator pitch. The event is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff.
